Throughout the period of school closures, we’ve been taking steps to ensure that our 2020 policy provides a greater level of protection for schools in the unfortunate event that the virus affects their workforce.

The 16th Cheshire Business Awards ceremony took place at Chester Racecourse last Friday (4th October 2019). The awards culminated in a major ceremony and dinner to present the prestigious awards, recognising enterprise, achievement and innovation across Cheshire.

The number of parents fined for their children's poor attendance at school has increased by 93% to almost 223,000 in 2017-18.

A secondary school is offering parents the chance to take their children out of school for one week in July next year for an "enrichment week", the BBC reports.

With April just around the corner, schools are planning their spending for the next financial year. We know that schools can often be forced to operate under stringent budgets, therefore it is important that they have a staff absence policy in place designed to mitigate the financial risk, minimise disruption and reduce staff absences. 

Most of us will feel stress at work in one way or another. Physiological symptoms of stress such as the release of adrenaline are a healthy and necessary bodily reaction. In moderation these are nothing to worry about. However continuous or overwhelming levels of stress can become unmanageable and will have a detrimental physiological and psychological impact.
