- New for 2021: Self-certify absences* for up to 15 working days. We allow insured members of staff to self-certify absences* for up to 15 working days. This removes the burden on policy administrators, improves claim settlement times and eases any cash-flow issues your school may have.
- Industry-leading claims assistance service. In the event that an absence exceeds the 15-day self-certification period, our staff will liaise directly with GPs to retrieve any reports we need from them to process your claim.
- Generous time limits. Schools have 45 calendar days (after the reporting date) to provide us with the supporting documentation we need to assess your claim.
- No pandemic exclusion. We will continue to cover any future pandemics.
- COVID-19 is covered in our policy. Insured members of staff will continue to be covered if they test positive for COVID-19 and are forced to self-isolate.
- Self-isolation cover. Insured members of staff will continue to be covered if they are showing symptoms of COVID-19 and are required to self-isolate.
- Compassionate leave cover We provide 20 working days of cover for compassionate leave related absences caused by a direct relative suffering a serious accident or illness.
- Bereavement and bereavement reaction cover
- Shared parental leave. Available if you select our lump sum maternity cover option.
