Last week we went down to visit last year's charity winners Morgan's Vale & Woodfalls Church of England Primary School in Wiltshire. The school have just completed the first stage of their wildlife habitat which will open up the back area of the playground and provide the students with an exciting new space to have lessons in the summer term and observe the wildlife.
We met with Head teacher Mr Graham Nagel-Smith to present him with the cheque for £513 raised by the team at Absence Protection. Mr Nagel-Smith told us the money would go a long way to help them with the second phase of the development, which they plan to work on this summer.
Over the course of the last 6 months the team at Absence Protection have been coming up with innovative ways to help raise money. We held a bake sale, inspired by the hit BBC show “The Great British Bake Off” where all the staff made cakes, muffins and biscuits. Some were more talented than others, the highlight came from sales team member Suzanne who produced an Oreo cake which not only looked amazing but would have had the judges from the show purring with delight. We also organised a dress down day, where everyone at Absence Protection came to work in their Pyjamas. The team did a great job raising the funds which were then generously matched by the company.
We would also like to mention our runner-up schools St Mary's Farnham Royal and Henry Hinde Infants and wish them luck with their fundraising too.
